    The IDEAS Fund invests in economic infrastructure (roads and railways), social infrastructure (housing and public private partnerships) and renewable energy infrastructure (solar and wind projects). While infrastructure investments are vital for economic growth and have tangible social and environmental impacts, the fund targets investments with potential to deliver strong long-term returns and simultaneously seeks to meet both social and environmental objectives.

    The IDEAS fund is managed by African Infrastructure Investment Managers (AIIM), a subsidiary of Old Mutual Alternative Investments (OMAI).

  • Spilled Water Renewable Energy (Pty) Ltd


    Spilled Water Renewable Energy (SWRE) (Pty) Ltd is a newly-formed renewable energy company focused on establishing a diversified portfolio of renewable energy projects for the South Africa and sub-Saharan regions. SWRE has experience in consulting on, securing and executing climate change (carbon credits) projects and renewable energy projects – namely wind, solar and biomass to energy. SWRE has strategic relations with numerous utilities and independent power producers internationally, and, as a result, represents and assists them on the continent in various roles.

    SWRE is committed to the goals and principles of the South African government to promote regional development through the renewable energy sector and, as such, is seeking partners that have a long-term view of the South African renewable energy sector.

    The Metrowind Community Trust is a 5% shareholder in the Metrowind Van Stadens Wind Farm. Through the Trust local communities are able to share in the benefits arising from the wind farm.
